CONCORD, MA, March 8, 2010 – Leading Eclipse 500 operator Linear Air announced today that it has been awarded a three-year contract by the Federal Aviation Administration approval to provide Eclipse 500 FAA pilots with initial and recurrent training in the Eclipse 500 jet.
After an extensive review of potential training providers, the FAA chose Linear Air based on program quality, scheduling flexibility, access to aircraft, insurance and affordability.
Linear Air’s Eclipse 500 training program includes computer-based systems training, classroom training and flight training. The program is based on Linear Air’s successful training program for its professional Eclipse 500 pilots who fly charter customers in the company’s on-demand air-taxi service, making Linear Air’s pilots the most experienced and qualified Eclipse instructors available.
Linear Air’s Eclipse 500 pilot training program is authorized under Part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations and FAA Advisory Circular AC 61-137, which specifically addresses the unique training requirements of the Eclipse 500 jet. Eclipse 500 pilots must receive initial training to fly the Eclipse, mentor training to fly single-pilot, and ongoing recurrent training at either six or twelve month intervals depending on pilot experience.
