Linear Air Inc., a company offering private jet services, said that it has closed on $2.5 million from undisclosed individual investors.

The round is an extension of a $1 million first round, which closed in mid-2004, said a spokeswoman for the company.

A year and a half ago, Linear Air was buying its first two aircraft. The company has since grown from two to 25 employees, and plans to use the new financing for initial deposits on 30 very light jets from Eclipse Aviation Corp. The company will also broaden its presence in Boston, New York and the Caribbean.

Lexington, Mass.-based Linear Air provides private air-taxi service from Hanscom Field in Bedford, Mass., Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, N.J., and Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y. The company has regular routes between those airports as well as to Nantucket, Mass. and Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. Linear Air also provides chartered flights to more than 500 other cities, including San Juan, Puerto Rico.
