Cape Cod
Cape Cod at a Glance
Cape Cod is not a city. It is more of a lifestyle. The sandy, hook-shaped peninsula jutting into the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Cod Bay is home to charming fishing villages, photogenic lighthouses, endless beaches, and all the fresh (really fresh!) seafood you can eat.
One of the biggest tourist destinations in Massachusetts. Each year, six million visitors come to dig their toes in the sand at the white-sand Cape Cod beaches blanketing the 560-mile shoreline and explore the Upper Cape and Outer Cape.
Summertime is when The Cape shines with vacation rentals and beaches full. The sunlight sparkles on the ocean waves, the breeze has a hint of salt, and the sunrises are magical. Life on the Cape slows way down in the winter, but visitors can still soak up the relaxed atmosphere with a mug of beer and a bowl of clam chowder at one of the many good restaurants.
Although it is part of Massachusetts, Cape Cod seems like it is a world away. It’s located just forty miles from historic Plymouth, Massachusetts, and seventy miles from Boston. Nearly 200,000 people make Cape Cod their year-round home. Private flights to the Cape charter land at Provincetown Municipal Airport or Barnstable Memorial Airport.
Cape Cod Attractions
While visiting Cape Cod, be sure to spend time at the Cape Cod National Seashore, take a whale watching tour to see the once endangered humpback whales feeding at the Stellwagen Bank, and enjoy the vibrant music and art scene in Provincetown, located at the very tip of the Cape.
