Columbus, Ohio, has a rich cultural background in addition to being the state capital of Ohio and the state’s most populous city. As the 14th largest city in the United States, Columbus has much to offer those seeking entertainment, excitement, and memorable occasions. Columbus may be best known for one of the most famous football schools in North America: the Ohio State University. Columbus is also home to one of the nation’s most popular zoos as well as the Scioto Mile, which features many distinct eateries, bars, and shopping centers.
Columbus is America’s 11th fastest-growing city in the country. Most tourists visit the city of Columbus during the summer months of June, July, and August, when temperatures range from a low of 66℉ to a high of 85℉. According to Experience Columbus, the city hosts more than 41 million travelers each year, many of whom travel to experience the Gallery Hop, which is hosting its 38th anniversary in 2022.  Other great tourist locations in Columbus include the Short North Arts District, High Street, and the North Market.
Columbus was named after 15th-century Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and is the largest of the many cities in the world named after him. Columbus is located in central Ohio at the confluence of the Olentangy and Scioto rivers. This particular region is subject to a humid continental climate with hot summers and dry winters. The current population of Columbus, OH, rests at 905,748 people as of 2020.
Columbus has many areas that feature exciting activities for tourists. One of these is located directly on the Scioto River and is known as “The Scioto Mile.” The Scioto Mile is a collection of parks and trails along both banks of the Scioto River and hosts 9 different parks and covers 145 acres of land.
