Officially, Houston is America's fourth largest city in terms of population. Roughly 2.4 million people call the city of Houston home, trailing only New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Houston is also one of the 10 largest cities in the country in terms of area, encompassing approximately 600 square miles.
Houston is located in southeast Texas, a few miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico. Houston is about 240 miles south of Dallas, and 220 miles east of San Antonio.
Unsurprisingly for a city of its size, Houston has many airports available to air travelers. The primary airports are George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). Smaller airports include Ellington Airport, La Porte Municipal Airport, and West Houston Airport.

With a city as large as Houston, there is no shortage of things to do. One of the must-see areas in the city is the museum district, which is home to a huge collection of world-class museums. Found here are the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Children's Museum, and the Houston Zoo. In the south of the city, visitors should make sure to see the Space Center Houston as well.

Houston is also a notable sports city, home to the NBA's Houston Rockets, NFL's Houston Texans, and MLB's Houston Astros.
